Privacy Policy
Dual Subtitles for Udemy ("the extension") shows a translation under the captions of Udemy video lectures. This policy explains what data the extension handles and why.
What the extension processes
- Caption text. When you watch a Udemy lecture with captions turned on, the extension reads the caption text shown in the player and the lecture's caption file (
.vtt) so it can translate it. - Your settings. Your language, color and size choices are saved with Chrome's built-in
chrome.storage.sync, so they follow your Chrome profile.
Who receives data
To translate captions, the caption text and the chosen languages are sent to the Google Translate service (translate.googleapis.com). Nothing else is sent: no account details, no browsing history, no personal identifiers. Google processes these requests under its own privacy policy.
The caption file is downloaded directly from Udemy's own content servers (udemycdn.com), the same file the Udemy player already loads.
What the extension does not do
- It does not collect, store or transmit personal information to the developer.
- It does not use analytics, tracking or advertising.
- It does not sell or transfer user data to third parties, except the caption text sent to Google Translate as described above.
- It does not use or transfer data for purposes unrelated to translating captions, and it does not use data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
- It does not run on any website other than Udemy.
Donations
The "Buy me a coffee" button opens a Stripe payment page in a new tab. The extension does not see or handle any payment information; Stripe processes it under its own privacy policy.

Šta ekstenzija obrađuje
- Tekst titlova koji se prikazuje u plejeru i fajl sa titlovima lekcije (
.vtt), da bi mogao da se prevede. - Tvoja podešavanja (jezik, boja, veličina), sačuvana u Chrome-ovom
chrome.storage.sync.
Ko dobija podatke
Radi prevoda, tekst titla i izabrani jezici šalju se servisu Google Translate (translate.googleapis.com). Ništa drugo se ne šalje: nema podataka o nalogu, istorije pregledanja ni ličnih podataka. Fajl sa titlovima se preuzima direktno sa Udemy servera (udemycdn.com).
Šta ekstenzija ne radi
- Ne prikuplja i ne šalje lične podatke autoru.
- Nema analitiku, praćenje ni reklame.
- Ne prodaje podatke i ne prosleđuje ih trećim stranama, osim teksta titla koji se šalje Google Translate-u.
- Radi samo na sajtu Udemy.
